The Wyandotte chicken is an American breed of chicken developed in the 1870s. The Splash Laced Red Wyandottes are beautiful chickens that have a laced color pattern which is mahogany/red in color with light grey around the edge of every feather. Similar to the Blue Laced Red, Splash is the lightest shade out of the blues. This chicken makes an excellent pet and is good for eggs and/or meat. They will on occasion go broody and they make excellent mothers. They work well in confinement or free range and are a great back yard chicken.
